Light and Shadow are the two opposing alignments in Xhodon between which every Magician must choose. Any guild will have to choose an alignment - Every magician in this guild will be of this alignment. Commonly, players choose to call the guild's "alignment" "Ethos".

In-game effects

Master of Light
Master of Shadow

Technically, there are few differences between the two alignments. The graphical surface changes with alignment, as do the creature icons seen in the Breeding Pit and the Xhodotorian Cocoon. Each alignment also has specific item sets which wizards of the other alignment cannot use.

Therefore it is a decision of your heart whether to become a dark servant of the Shadow or a just paladin of Light.

Choosing and changing alignment

You choose your alignment during account creation. To change it later, go to your Profile and click "Edit profile". This is only possible if you are not in a guild. In the same manner, when you join a guild, you will change to the guild's ethos.

Changing alignment is free for the first time. Each further change will reduce your Tree of Life's production by 50% for one day.
